On Sunday, President Lee Myung-bak nominated Kim Tae-ho as the new Prime Minister. Kim Tae-ho, 48, was a former governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, located in the South Gyeongsang Province. If the National Assembly confirms Kim Tae-ho, he would be replacing Chung Un-Chan, who offered his resignation late last month. At age 48, Kim Tae-ho will be the country's first prime minister under the age of 50 in 40 years.

Also, there have been other people who have been nominated. Lee Joo-ho was nominated as the Minister of Education, Shin Jae-Min as Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Park Jae-wan as Minister of Labor, Yoo Jeong-bok as Minister of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Lee Jae-hoon as Minister of Knowledge Economy, and Jin So-hee as Minister of Health and Welfare.

Meanwhile, President Lee has kept his foreign, defense, and unification ministers in place. There have still been ongoing tensions with North Korea over the sinking of a South Korean ship.
