The fast developing electronics and IT industries are growing faster than Jack's beanstalk. In fact, it would be more accurate to classify this growth as an evolution: the change from Neanderthal to Homo sapiens. The same applies to smartphones. Better doesn't mean lighter anymore. Better means more easy-to-use applications, and greater mobility. Survival has become that much more difficult.

Massive influxes of developments such as 3D, smartphones, and applications are shown at exhibitions and expos held in popular cities all over the world. KES has also been successful in introducing a variety of cutting edge devices over the years through exhibitions like that which was held at KINTEX 2009. Exhibitions give us a sneak peek inside the most trendy and wanted technology with opportunities to experience them even before they are introduced into the market. They can also provide production companies with consumer feedback to be used for further research and development. Celebrating its 41st anniversary this year, Korea Electronics Show will carry out its purpose once more.

One in a million

KES has been playing its role as a marketplace to reflect on developments in technology and society. New gizmos and gadgets can be easily seen even in some of the World's top renowned shows such as the IFA of Europe or CES of the United States. "A signature of KES is that not only it displays the next market movement, but the exhibition concept, which has changed from a trade show to a value chain. We will focus more on exhibiting design, research and development, contents and distribution rather than finished products themselves. We will divide the halls by theme and suggest a clear concept for each hall. Green IT, Next Generation Growth Engine, and Show in Show are the main themes we have planned for this year." CEO & President Jeon Sang-hwon of said.

Thrills and frills

KES is a thrill for everyone. Early adopters no doubt will find KES as a grand playground, but they are not the only ones to be delighted. Even to the eyes of the citizens with no background knowledge on latest technology, KES offers much excitement followed by growth. Businessmen who are looking for profit by investing in the next money making dot com technology companies are also welcomed to join the exhibition to take part in the trade of information given by many electronic device trading companies all over south east Asia and to have a look around to experience the upcoming generation in technology. CEO Jeon added, "KES this year is also planning to function as a marketplace to introduce cutting-edge consumer goods including small appliances. Visitors will see one-of-a-kind toasters, earphones, hair dryers, and coffee machines at our exhibition. Within the showcase of these unique consumer goods, a variety of products will be on display to show 3D, digital broadcasting, u-health and convergence. This is what we are promoting as the Show in Show."

New Tech Planner

The terms 'consumer friendly' and 'user friendly' are always challenged again and again when new technologies are introduced. 3D technology and smartphones are one of these technologies which make the users feel more attached and closer to the devices that they own. Such electronic devices are shown in exhibitions with themes such as 3D expo, media in digital form, digital hospitals and many more. They are organized to attract many buyers and offer CEOs and research workers insights into future investments and research issues. Especially in 3D expos, we have shown world first pre-trials in satellite broadcasting only in KES with companies such as Red Rover signing contracts to be provided all future 3D contents for all renowned British broadcasting companies.

Organizer

Celebrating its 41st anniversary, KES is now preparing for the next 40 years to come. All the participants can witness and experience the electronic and IT industry's latest trend. KES is becoming the marketplace for business actions. First, the government, along with many research institutes, is hosting, "The Creative Future Forum" to provide direction for the future electronic and IT industry. In the exhibition, mergers with IT technology with cars, marine engineering, textile, and medical field will be discussed. Here, popular dot com companies such as Google and Twitter will be invited to the exhibition for insights on predicting what the future society would look like given the directions for the industry in relation to creativity.

Progresso

"To take our exhibition to the next level, smart phone application programmers in Korea and from all over the World can gather together to present a variety of applications to offer many different business opportunities to those who are interested. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese electronic device distribution channels will take part in the exhibition to give trade consultations which may lead to big scale contracts between companies," President Jeon said. Famous Korean celebrities will participate in the opening ceremony with opportunities to experience the cutting edge technologies from all around the world.

President Jeon Sang-hwon stated, "Celebrating our 41st anniversary, KES is now prepared to show many different exhibitions and trading opportunities for future consumers and investors to prepare for the next 40 years development in the technology era to come. I encourage everyone to dash to our website (http://www.kes.org) for a final chance to register for KES 2010."
