The winner of the 2010 Green Growth Industry Award, GS Construction, under the slogan "Smart Green Xi" is gaining attention by developing the world's first remote control technology using smart phones to control home networks. GS Construction says that they will make eco-friendly, energy efficient houses through integrated ideas, such as energy creation and energy control through hi-efficiency material and equipment.
Energy is conserved through home energy a battery, Building Integrated Photovoltaic System awning and providing electricity and heating through geothermal systems.
Super insulation system, hi-efficiency non-railing doors and windows and double skin windows will all use energy efficient materials and equipment systems to reduce waste of energy.
All energy created and used at home is controlled through integrated an on-off switch of new renewable energy and smart appliances, standby power shut-off switch and smart meters.
The most important GS Construction technology is the connection between smart phones and home networking. Home systems can be manipulated through wireless communication systems, as is the internet even now, but as the popularity of smart phones rise it is a big deal that GS Construction managed to develop the first convergence of smart phones and home networking. Once the Xi app is downloaded and installed from the Android marketplace, control panels for temperature, lighting, air-conditioning, gas valve and bathtub are shown. A demonstration of these elements of the home being controlled from the outside using a smart phone with a simple flick of a finger is shown in a promotional video.
The temperature control allows the user to keep the house warm just before coming returning home and the lighting can be turned on and off. The bathtub control can control hot and cold water, as well as other information like location, traffic and maintenance cost. The smart phone app is proving hope for a faster, more efficient and convenient lifestyle.
