Thomas Kim, vice president of DKO (Dynamic Korea Opportunity) is a Korean American, who is headquartered in Pasadena, California, and has an office in Samsung-dong, Seoul. The company DKO International focuses on helping broad range of small, medium and large manufactures to do business in North & South America.
Their core service is master representation and being unique, by offering variety of customized consulting, business development, national sales and marketing. Thomas stated that he has been to most of the IT conventions in Korea, looking for products that are compatible in the American market.
Thomas said "The Korea Electronics Grand Fair 2010 is well conducted and is convenient for potential buyers. Information desks are helpful and a lot of people are able to communicate with foreign customers, which is relatively better than last year. It seems that the scale has been slightly reduced from last year, but there were more attractive products than other conventions or previous ones." And he said "It seems that the Korean market is more used to communicating with the Asian and European Markets than the American one. With more information exchanges and communication through seminars in conventions like these, there will be more opportunity for us to represent both markets."
Thomas spent a significant time in the convention, particularly at the Green-IT pavilion. He told us "Korean products by medium enterprises have the merit of well arranged patents and unique technologies, which make it hard to copy. It was proven last year in a Washington convention; I was able to sell out the whole booth with a Korean Product. As a Korean American, I am mostly proud to represent Korean products to the outside market."
