Nitto Denko, a global leading Japanese company in the fields of adhesion and coating, was spotted at IMID 2010. Hideo Takasaki, senior corporate vice president, was present at the booth to interact with the visitors. Found in 1918, the 92-year-old firm started off as a company which makes adhesives. Their products today are the yolk to the Samsung and LG displays. Vice President Takasaki says the key to the growth of Nitto Denko is "flexibility" and "customization".

He pointed to the squiggly logo of Nitto Denko at the booth and explained, "Our logo itself best represents the culture of our corporation. The letter N is stretched and italicized, but when you take a second look at it, it also looks like a capital D. This signifies the flexibility of Nitto Denko. The red dot in the center represents the core of our company, which is the technology behind our product," explained Hideo Takasaki. "Not only do we make films for LCD displays, but we also make films for all kinds of products, like touch films for touch displays. Our films are flexible and feasible for multi-purpose and structure."

Capitalizing on sheets and films added with a wide spectrum of functions, the Group is pursuing a wide variety of businesses as a "Flexible Technology Company," in 25 countries and areas of the world, in the industries ranging from electronics, automotives, environmental and medical, irrespective of area or business domain.

Mr. Takasaki emphasized the importance of flexibility saying, "We do not produce and market goods like a normal company. Before production, Nitto Denko consults with the clients to meet each of their needs. Meeting clients' demands require flexibility and advanced technology, and we are always ready to listen."

Nitto Denko Group is engaged in a thorough-going productivity boost initiative called "Mu Gen Dai" -- which stands for "Eliminating, Reducing and Substituting" in Japanese. "We have clearly defined the value which we will offer to markets and customers from now on as "Green, Clean and Fine," the Vice President Hideo Takasaki continued, "Green represents the eco-friendly production methods we use. Clean is how we will solve energy problems with energy saving products that require less energy to operate. Fine is our goal of healthy living, such as our medication-treated adhesives for patches and band-aids.

Mr. Takasaki shared his vision to promote Nitto Denko through other global exhibitions as well, "We are here today because LG and Samsung are our most important clients. We are also attending many conferences and exhibitions around the world. We are planning to attend European and US exhibitions as well.  Since China is a rising power in the IT industry, we are surely looking forward to attend Chinese conventions in the near future."
