On the 28th of October, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced the 5 consortiums to propel the World Best Software proejct from this year to 2013. The selected consortium are AhnLab, INFINITT Healthcare, Infraware, KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries), KSCC (Korea Smart Card Co., Ltd).
The chosen consortiums will carry out the first tasks of 'World Best Software' by 2013 and support the core software in the domestic industry and package software for the overseas market.
Korean Government promoted a 'World Best Software (WBS)' project for creating the world's best software investing KRW 18 billion. This past July, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy also announced seven categories of challenge projects. The development of software focuses on fusion with fields of manufacturing such as, the airline, mobile, and services industries, including medical care and transportation.
