'The Night of Dosan', is the 132nd anniversary of Ahn Chang-ho whose pen name is Dosan, held at the Millennium Seoul Hilton Grand Ballroom at 18:30 on Tuesday 2nd November. The 21th event, conducted by Do-san Academy Committee and sponsored by Dosan Ahn Chang-ho Memorial Foundation and Young Korea Academy, has held on his birthday 9th Nov every year since 1990. A devoted patriot and the nation's spiritual leader, Dosan, along with his fellow patriots, dedicated all his waking hours to national independence, cohesion and prosperity. The event honors his life with patriotic spirit and the awards have been given since 1996 and a special award of Dosan has awarded since 2001. This year, as 300 eminent persons from various circles attended, it was conducted before a week due to the G20 summit next week.
After pledging allegiance to the nation, a Speech of Oh Myung, is the Chairman of Dosan Academy, was held in turn presided by Oh Dong-geon anchor. He began the speech citing Dosan Ahn Chang-ho's word, is emphasized to the students in school of DaeSung all the time, 'Do you love your country Be the first person of sound character. If you regard the efforts of the people lovely, be a doctor before you do. Even if you're not going to be doctor, fix your fault and be a person of sound character.' After the Speech, the time for reminding his life and spirit was offered to the public as showing the video 'Dosan Ahn's life and spirit'.
Following the video, awards ceremony for the person of Dosan held in collaboration with Dosan Ahn Chang-ho Memorial Foundation for the first time in 2010. Baek Nak-hwan, a chairman of Dosan Ahn Chang-ho Memorial Foundation, gave an educational award to Chung Jung-sun, the principal of Sungbo school in Dae-gu and Oh Myung, the chairman of Dosan Academy, gave a award for an excellent volunteer to Shin Jae-yong, a director of Hae-sung Chinese acupuncture and herbal clinic. The venture awards, having been in collaboration with Dosan Academy and NIA since 2006, gave to Lee Sang-Keun, is CEO of Ubiquoss Co,. Ltd.
The winner of the adventure award, Chung Jung-sun, invented personalized education for a variety of handicapped students and presented a model of the special education. It was a significant contribution to educate the disabled people. Award for excellent volunteer winner, Shin Jae-yong, established 'DongEui Nandal' at his own expense and has been done medical services and welfare activities for the seniors, disabled people and children. The venture award winner, Lee Sang-Keun, made a huge contribution to the development of Internet industry managing the venture company with creative and challenging entrepreneurial spirit.
To celebrate the event, Yu Tae-Pyeongyang Arts, sang Pansori 'a line of a Heungbu's song' passionately then he was vociferously applauded. He is now a student in National High School of Traditional and already sang Pansori 'a line of a Heungbu's song' at age six in full. The excited event by him reached its peak as Ban Jae-chul, director of Young Korea Academy, had the celebration speech for dinner and Kim Shin-il, the former deputy prime minister, raised his glass to good health and continuing success of all attended. After dinner and conversation of the time, a giveaway and chorus was held in turn as the final event.
