 COEX, Seoul - November 9, 2010 - The Seoul G20 Business Summit is now only two days away. The Seoul G20 Business Summit is a business forum for 120 top business leaders from G20 and non-member countries. They are to collaboratively address "the Role of Business for Sustainable and Balanced Growth" with several prominent leaders.

The Business Summit consists of an opening plenary, closing session and three roundtable sessions with focus on the agenda topics of Trade and Foreign Direct Investment, Finance, Green Growth and Corporate Social Responsibility. Chief executives will partake in three one-hour roundtable sessions to engage in active dialogue with G20 leaders.

 Bare necessity

 Financial crisis is stuck on band-aid and the band-aid is stuck on global crisis, but the nations have miles to go before sleep. Now is the time to develop new methods for growth recovery through G20 policy cooperation. Private companies are on their alert calls to be responsible for investments and job creation as well as the solutions for sustainable growth. The government and private sector must strengthen collaboration to generate new growth and create the jobs needed to consolidate economic recovery.

Highlights of G20 Business Summit

The Seoul G20 Business Summit - an extensive process of discussion and collaboration - is a channel for public-private cooperation. By bringing together world leaders of both the private and public sectors, it will further empower the G20 as an international forum for influential decision-makers. The G20 process, which previously comprised inter-governmental discussions only, now has participation from the private sector, making it a truly premier global economic forum.

Twelve heads of State from countries including Korea, Russia, Germany, Argentina, Spain, UK, Turkey, Australia, South Africa, Mexico, Japan, and EC will join top CEOS in roundtable sessions to exchange their views on growth beyond the financial crisis.

Influential Fortune 250 companies have been invited to achieve balance across economies and industries.  Each working group will combine the valuable insights of participating business leaders to produce a definitive report on its discussion issue.

Victor Fung of Li and Fung Group, for example, will discuss on the topic of "Revitalizing World Trade". Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, chairman of Nestle is also scheduled to note on the topic "Ensuring Foreign Direct Investment". Then the Chairman of Stephen Green will conduct a discussion regarding to the topic "Nurturing SMEs".

Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Bank, Chairman of SK Group, CEO of Vestas Wind Systems, CEO of Infosys, and five other conveners are leading the report-writing process on a total of 12 discussion issues.

Pearl of Ideas Coming Soon

The first draft of the working group report was circulated at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in early October. The final draft, with added input from the G20 process, was submitted and reviewed by the G20 Sherpas in late October. This ongoing exchange of ideas finally resulted in the selection of key messages to be delivered to the G20 heads of State during the Business Summit.
