Snap! Click! A smartphone is aimed at a Starbucks sign on the street and its menu and history information is recieved. This year, RFID/USN Korea 2010 suggested that RFID/USN technology is already contributing to the lives of consumers' to secure their efficiency, health, safety, and happiness. A smartphone reads the barcode of Aspirin and informs the user of its expiration date, detects authentication of liquor by tracing its history, and receives complete milage information at the gas station after filling up. This is only a few highlights of RFID/USN Korea 2010, the world's biggest RFID/USN exhibition by far.
"Consumers are no longer satisfyed with only IT-aid efficiency and productivity. What they are now seeking is a convergence between IT and industries, or the creation of the new market that has a direct impact on the growth of a company," Kim Shin-bae, CEO of SK Telecom and the Chairman of RFID/USN Association continued, "RFID/USN Korea 2010, in this sense, a sight where diverse industries like automobile, pharmaceuticals, steel, electronics, logistics, fashion, and energy converges with IT infrastructure to envision a new market."
RFID/USN KOREA 2010, a bustling center of RFID/USN business all over the world, was held at COEX, Seoul on December 2nd.
The 4-day event was hosted by the Ministry of Knowledge and Economy and Ministry of Public Administration and Security. The exhibition displayed how RFID/USN technology can be applied and converged with new technology products, solutions, u-City, and mobile RFID services in today's market. RFID USN 2010 had 4 themes: u-IT convergence, solutions, new technology and products, and international exhibitions.
The RFID/USN KOREA 2010 Convention is the biggest and the most esteemed international RFID/USN convention with 160 companies and organizations participating (360 booths) from USA, China, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong. About 30,000 RFID/USN related parties travel to the exhibition from all over the globe.
