After programs like Google Earth, it should not be a surprise that Google is expanding its use of technology to review other areas of life such as the human body. Just as easily as someone can input a town or address in Google Earth, now you can enter a part of the body in this new program to instantly explore it. Available at bodybrowser.googlelabs.com, it is a feature that will be evidently useful to medical students and the healthcare industry.

The map of the body is three-dimensional and runs on the HTML5 canvas element which means that no plug-ins will be necessary to run this program. As long as people have a browser that supports the program, such as the latest beta versions i.e. Google Chrome and Firefox, anyone can use it quickly at anytime and anywhere.

Play with the zoom and explore your body in ways that you never thought you could. After experiencing illness or injury, take a look at the area that is affected and possibly understand more of what is happening. Although no one can be certain that this type of technology would be used in the doctor's office, it is pleasant to think that one day it'll be easier for our issues to be explained to us. What's the possible next step for this program Inflicting common diseases or injuries on the virtual body so that patients can explore what is happening within them!
