For the Greater Good, IPAK Holds a General Meeting

Cho Sung-kap, chairman of IPAK talks about New Year

In order to go further, the Information Technology Professionals' Association of Korea (IPAK) had a chance to look back and plan for this year. On January 19, 2011, IPAK held a regular general meeting and a New Year’s greeting for its members.

During the past year, IPAK has engaged in various activities such as, holding the 22 Global Software Contest of Korea, the 24th the Day of IT Personnel, performing research projects for small and medium enterprises and many others.

In 2011, this institution continuously keeps on carrying out lots of projects. Along with the Global Software Contest of Korea and the Day of IT Personnel, IPAK is planning to publish a news letter every month. The news letter will provide useful information to the members as covering new members, gathering activities and the introduction of member companies.

On top of that, IPAK will also engage in a business cooperation project between its members, to share technology through seminars.

Also Shin Kook-hwan, the former minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy was appointed as honorary member at the event. "Thank you. It is honor to be an honorary member of IPAK. As you all know the world is changing rapidly and today, Korea needs to build a sound IT infrastructure in order to leap ahead. And through the innovation of new technology, I believe we can join the ranks of advanced countries," the former minister said.

IPAK is a non-profit organization that was established in 1983. IPAK invites distinguished IT experts from academic and industry circles from across the globe for its lectures and seminars. As the first non-profit organization to be authorized by the ministry, IPAK promotes camaraderie among its IT experts and encourages their participation in the formulation and implementation of IT policies.
