A public-private partnership between the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute and KOLON Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., led to construction of sewage treatment equipment of 71.5billion won in Southern Binh Doung Province, Vietnam.
With the participation by KOLON Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd, the Vietnamese government, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, the groundbreaking ceremony was held in Binh Doung Province, Vietnam on March 29, 2011.
The project is to build a sewage treatment equipment (17,650㎥/day), a pump station (3.48㎥/min) and a sewer pipe in Southern Binh Doung Province, Vietnam with the support by JICA, which provided 71.5billion won from Official Development Assistance (ODA).* l Official Development Assistance : Grant or loan, provided for a developing country (or an international organization) for its development of economy and society
The Korean government has built a public-private partnership with KOLON Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd and the Vietnamese government and has actively tried to obtain order. As a result, it won a contract after beating global leading water treatment companies in an international competitive bid in December 2010.
An official from Binh Doung Water Supply-Sewerage Environment Co., Ltd. said he wishes Korean companies to join in planned follow-up projects of large scale and a partnership with the Korean government can be enhanced.
