On May 19, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) announced that it is accepting applications for an additional support project which will aid companies in attending overseas exhibitions. The support plan is designed to prompt small and medium companies to export, and to help carve out export avenues for new growth industries.
The application form can be downloaded from www.gep.or.kr, and completed forms should be sent to the Co-organizing Exhibition of KOTRA, by the 26th.
The MKE has sponsored companies for up to 70 percent of the total cost of rent, installation, and transportation charges to expand exports.
The MKE already supports 2,700 companies to attend 128 exhibitions using 18.8 billion won (US$15.1 million), and now it has 4 billion won (US$3.2 million) more to work with.
An official from the MKE said: “It will be a good opportunity for companies that want to land more contracts by informing the world of their products and meet foreign buyers face-to-face.”
