
Korea and the US will hold a Strategic Dialogue of Deputy Foreign Ministers as well as a meeting of Foreign and Defense (2+2) Deputy Ministers in Washington on April 26 for discussions on follow-up measures to the ROK-US Foreign and Defense Ministers' Meeting held in July 2010 and the Foreign Ministers' Meeting on April 16.
The Strategic Dialogue, which MOFAT's Deputy Minister Kim Jae-shin and Kurt Campbell, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, will attend as the top delegates of the two countries, will deal with a wide range of matters of mutual concern, including bilateral issues; Northeast Asian, Asia-Pacific and other regional issues; and ways to bolster ROK-US cooperation on the global stage.
The ROK-US Meeting of Foreign and Defense (2+2) Deputy Ministers will take place with MOFAT's Deputy Minister Kim Jae-shin and the Defense Ministry's Deputy Minister for Policy Lim Kwan-bin on the Korean side, as well as Assistant Secretary of State Kurt Campbell and Derek Mitchell, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs, on the US side. In the Meeting, the two sides will discuss their North Korea policies and the ROK-US alliance; regional cooperation; and global issues.
