The Foreign Ministry held the 12th Passport Policy Commission meeting on April 28 and decided to extend the travel ban to Libya by 2 months (5.15-7.14). The travel ban to Libya is extended because the unstable security situation in Libya due to the civil war is expected to continue for a while.

If the Libyan situation improves before the travel ban to the country expires, the Foreign Ministry will immediately hold a Passport Policy Commission meeting and review the duration of the travel ban. The 12th Passport Policy Commission meeting, presided by Min Dong-seok, 2nd Vice Foreign Minister, was attended by members from the private sector and relevant government agencies including Cheongwadae, the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Justice, the National Police Agency, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
