Seoul, South Korea--Seoul Semiconductor today announces that it has initiated two actions asserting claims of patent infringement against Philips, the first of which was filed in Germany in March and the second of which was filed in Korea in May.
Seoul Semiconductor respects the intellectual property rights of others and believes that its products do not infringe Philips' patents. While these kinds of intellectual property issues are commonplace for global companies, Seoul Semiconductor intends to protect and defend its intellectual property rights in the United States and elsewhere around the world.
Seoul Semiconductor holds thousands of patents worldwide directed to core LED chip, LED package, and future LED lighting technology. Included in this intellectual property portfolio are hundreds of patents directed to its innovative and acclaimed AcricheTM technologies.
