Asian leaders agreed to strive for an economic community by 2015 as their two-day summit closed in Jakarta Sunday. The Association of South East Asian Nations issued declarations on "ASEAN Community in a Global Community of Nations," "Establishment of the ASEAN Institute for Peace and Reconciliation" and "Enhancing cooperation against trafficking in persons in Southeast Asia," China's official Xinhua news agency reported.

The leaders agreed to speed up individual and joint efforts to establish an ASEAN Community by 2015. They pledged to boost existing law enforcement agencies efforts against human trafficking work toward an ASEAN Convention on Trafficking in Persons.

Another topic was the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity to promote integration of infrastructure and institutions. Migrant workers' rights, piracy, terrorism, disaster management and greater cooperation on food and energy security were on the agenda as well.

Under ASEAN auspices and Indonesian mediation, Cambodian and Thai leaders discussed their border dispute at the conference Sunday. The meeting was preceded by the first ASEAN-EU Business Summit.
