A ROK-EU Consultation on North Korean Issues will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on May 13. The two sides will exchange views on a wide range of North Korea-related issues, including its current situation, nuclear issue and inter-Korean relations.
The Consultation will take place as part of measures to strengthen the ROK-EU cooperation in political affairs in the wake of forging a ROK-EU strategic partnership in October 2010, while reflecting the EU's growing interest in North Korean issues. Kim Hong-kyun, MOFAT's Director-General for Korean Peninsula Peace Regime, and James Moran, Director for Asia of the Directorate General for External Relations of the European Commission, will lead their respective delegations at the meeting.
