Samsung Group Chairman, Lee Kun-hee

On June 9, Lee Kun-hee, chairman of Samsung Group is signaling that he may order a group-wide audit and a far-reaching management reshuffle. He remarked, "Corruption is widespread in Samsung Group."

Some reporters asked him about upcoming reshuffles at the group's subsidiaries. He answered, "It looks like Samsung Techwin's corruption case is just the tip of the iceberg, and the corruption and illegalities must be more serious throughout the group." He also said, "Since Samsung has been doing well for the last 10 years, some employees must not be up to par." Infuriated by the audit results, Lee reprimanded his senior executives and ordered to beef up the auditing team to uproot corruption, Samsung's chief spokesman said.

It is also rumored that Lee heavily berated those involved in the corruption case of Samsung Techwin, saying that as long as such oddities exist in the corporate sector, we cannot expect symbiotic and equal growth to blossom. And Techwin's corruption has tarnished Samsung's clean corporate culture, which he said has been the pride of the group
