The U.S. Dept. of Commerce, in partnership with the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism and the Hawaii Pacific Export Council, is hosting a seminar on China as part of its Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation business seminar series.
This is the second of nine seminars focusing on business opportunities in APEC-member countries in advance of the November APEC Leaders Week meetings in Honolulu. The first in the series was about Japan and Korea.
The series will feature speakers from the U.S. embassies in each APEC market and leaders from private firms with experience in key APEC countries. Each session will focus on the market opportunities specific to Hawaii businesses, how to do business in each country, and the resources available for finding buyers or partners in each market.
Keeton Chiang and Stellar Chu from the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai will be presenting at the China seminar. The meeting is open to the public, and will take place Aug. 11 at the Hawaii Foreign-Trade zone building, 521 Ala Moana Blvd., Pier 2. Cost is $20 per person.
