The electronics company earned the new environmental sustainability certification for its consumer electronics, home appliances and solar panel products, which will be available in the United States in 2012.
The life cycle analysis was completed under the internationally recognized PAS 2050 methodology, with assistance from Konkuk University in Korea. The certification reflects that the cradle-to-grave analysis of the products carbon footprints adheres to global standards for reducing environmental impact.
The certification marks the first time that CarbonFree-certified liquid crystal display television, L.C.D. monitor, refrigerator, clothes washer, light emitting diode lamp or solar panel products will be available to the public, according to Carbonfund.org. - J. Balboa
