A network security system provider, Wins Technet has unveiled its hardware-based intrusion protection system (IPS), "A Series."

The Sniper IPS A Series product is a hardware-based IPS, providing functions to detect and precisely block hackings and worms, analyze statistics on attacks, draw up reports, and cut abnormal network traffic

Wins Technet said that the new systems comes in A1000, A2000 and A4000 types according to the maximum number of sessions and simultaneous sessions and data processing ability so that customers can select models in consideration of the scale of their networks.

Furthermore, the new product insures improved data processing ability and stability by combining overseas hardware chip-set design technology and its own network driver technology fit for domestic network environment, the company explained.

Wins Technet has conducted test operations since August with potential customers by industry to learn about detection, analysis and defense ability and stability of the new product. As a result, it succeeded in supplying the systems to 20 organizations such as Post Office call centers, Nonsan City Hall (South Chungchong Province) and Gyeonggi University.

Company sources said that its development of a hardware-based IPS, representing a shifting away from software-based IPS development, is in order to meet market demand and customer needs. The hardware-based system will help strengthen its competitiveness in the market, the sources said. Wins Technet plans to continue to upgrade software products for existing customers.
