To publicize CeBIT Asia, plus CeBIT Australia, and CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia of Istanbul, Turkey, Mr. Michael Hoppe who is responsible in Asia for Deutsche Messe AG, held a press conference on Jan. 21 at the Westin Chosun.
Mr. Hoppe explained at length the new concept and featured sections of CeBIT Asia 2005 to be held from May 11 through May 14, 2005 in Shanghai, China.
He emphasized that CeBIT Asia is re-focusing on 3 major drivers for the Asian ICT industry: the working and business environment, private users and the international focus on sourcing in Asia. These 3 drivers as represented by sections in CeBIT Asia are as follows:
Digital Work @ CeBIT Asia: Will cover the entire range of professional solutions for China's rapid growing economy: hardware, software and service -- bringing complete solutions for not only to multinationals but also to SMEs in urgent need of modernization of business processes and IT hardware. The concept of Digital Work @ CeBIT Asia is embedded into a set of conferences such as the CeBIT Asia Conference, the ATMO, the E-Government conference and the Software Development and Architecture Conference.
Digital Living @ CeBIT Asia: Exhibitors here will be showing the latest in consumer electronics, software, games and services for the sophisticated end user. This section will not only feature the latest products, but also a "digital house" demonstrating how life could look in the future, a game zone for enhanced live demonstrations of online games, a career center with the latest job offerings in the IT industry and many more events for modern online-users.

Sourcing @ CeBIT Asia: This area will display products made in Greater China (PRC, Hong Kong, Taiwan) for the foreign buyers. With view to China's growing importance in supplying hardware and software to international markets, CeBIT Asia, Etexpo.com and Alibaba.com, have joined forces to set up China's first sourcing event for export-minded suppliers for parts and components, Sourcing @ CeBIT Asia offers special business opportunities at the Outsourcing Matchmaking Meeting, the Sourcing Conference and the Buyers Nite.
Mr. Hoppe said that CeBIT Asia will host a great number of repeat exhibitors, suggesting that this is proof that they are satisfied with the results of their participation.
CeBIT Australia, to be held from May 24 through May 26, is Australasia's leading Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event. In three successful years CeBIT Australia has established itself as the leading ICT trade show in the Australasian region, Mr. Hoppe said.
Today, CeBIT is the only trade show which brings together all the relevant ICT solutions and services for managing business at one venue, at one time. No other event in this region has the ability to attract high-level government and industry participation with a focus on ICT and business, he explained.

Mr. Hoppe commented that a single appearance at CeBIT Australia is more effective than several separate presentations at specialist niche trade shows! He asserted firmly that CeBIT Australia has again stamped itself as the leading IT event in the country with record numbers of exhibitors and visitors.
Finally, Mr. Hoppe introduced CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia, the largest and most important ICT trade show in the region, covering the entire spectrum of information technology, telecommunications, software and ICT-related services. He said over 700 represented companies will again converge on Istanbul to exhibit the very latest integrated technology solutions -- informing, influencing and inspiring well over 150,000 visitors from more than 60 countries.
Mr. Hoppe encouraged Korean companies to take part in CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia, noting that this world-class event brings together buyers and sellers of information and communications technologies to share industry perspectives, to network and to conduct business.
Appealing primarily to business, CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia provides the scale, the scope and the quality from which professionals can make smart, well-focused and profitable business decisions, Mr. Hoppe concluded.
