Welcome to the future. If you take the blue pill you will awake in a society of integrated technology directly interfaced by the user. Where the efficient management of society and the control of its devices will be mitigated by utilizing Radio Frequency Technology. Scholars, designers, engineers, and businessmen are making this vision a reality. The Korea Association of RFID/ USN Convergence brings you the RFID/USN Korea Conference 2011. Come expand your vision of the future possibilities this technology is seeking to make possible. The RFID/ USN Korea Conference 2011 is coming to COEX Hall C in the south of Seoul. From Wednesday November 16th though Friday November 18th, this expo which has been organized jointly by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the Ministry of public Administration and security and the Korea communication Commission, and is being managed by the Korea Association of RFID/ USN Convergence. Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) and Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN) are being used and introduced in many fields and their size and flexibility lend themselves to their adaptation in many other fields. Currently this technology is most familiar in tracking merchandise, agricultural products, and library books. But the implementation of the technology in other devices and industry will enable advance control possibilities and enhance use of operation to many different systems and infrastructures. The history of RFID dates back to soviet scientist and inventor Leo Theremins who developed a predecessor technology as part of the cold war spy campaign. In general RFIDs are tiny chips that are activated and powered by devices that read them, via radio waves. They are perfect in product identification and management due to their size and their ability to be read and detected easily, and in bulk. It will be exciting to see what uses scientists who specialize in IT convergence and designing Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN) will develop and introduce. Businesses of all sizes will be demonstrating an array of new products, devices, and technologies, aimed at enhancing the devices and introducing them into other devices to enhance their usability. You can be sure that IT convergence will be a hot topic over coffee. With over 150 organizations hosting over 300 booths, under the banner "Smart Mobile, Smart Enterprise, Smart Life" it's sure to house a cornucopia of exhibitors showing the latest in chip and tracking technology. Online registration, prior to the event is free, and it is KRW 5,000 on the day of the event. Attendees can expect to see displays from many different technology corporations, communications providers, and computing companies. Last years conference had such notably exhibitors such as Alien Technology Asia, IBM, and Shinsegae. The conference officially begins Sat at 10 am when Anan Mehta from Motorola solutions will deliver a keynote address titled 'Global RFID Current Issues or Market Forecasting.' After which the chairman of Korea Association of RFID/ USN Convergence will give the opening Address.

Prof. Lee Myung-jong of CUNY will follow with 'Technology Trend for Wireless Sensor Networks.' Key Exhibits will cover advances in five main areas: RFID/ USN tags, readers, Antennas, and printers; Use in mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers as well as Mobile payment systems and Apps; Sensor products to measure temperature, humidity, vibration, etc.; And Convergence in many industrial uses such as the Automobile, ship, electronic, distribution, and construction industries; and such environmental and life applications as livestock management, energy, and national defense. In addition, 40 experts in the field from 10 countries will be speaking over the course of the three-day conference to those in attendance interested in the emergence and implementation of this technology.

There will be many exciting discussions. One Hot topic will be a discussion of the 'Global Logistics Information Synchronization Technology', by Lee Doo-won, Director of LG Hitachi, Ltd. Lee Tae-ho's talk concerning 'The Future of Secure Payment by Mobile' is sure to be of interest with the situation concerning the world economics system and hacktivist groups such as Anonymous. After last springs scare with foot and mouth disease in Korea, and other health  scares world-wide in the meat industries, 'IT based Control Service for Foot-and-Mouth Disease' to be delivered by Prof. Lee Sang-ruk from Konkuk University istimely. In all there are more than 50 talks about RFID technology and its application in modern devices, industry, and infrastructure. In addition, there will be an official tour for foreign participants, presentation of new products, business meetings, and a prize drawing. The conference aims to bring together industry experts from around the world. The goal is to facilitate global collaboration, development, and industry, by gathering scholars, businessmen, and developers all in one place. Korea being at the forefront of smart technology and ubiquitous system research is a logical country to host this annual event, exhibition, and conference.
