In recent years, many video-producing equipments such as CCTV has been installed and used for the security, traffic monitoring and the variety of applications. But the resultant video quality from the CCTV frequently deteriorates due to the harsh conditions such as the fog, the heavy rain, lowlight in outdoor environments and as a result, cause the growing problem of decreasing visibility in spite of investing a lot of money in CCTV system. So there has been growing demand in the market for the solution of enhancing the visibility of the deteriorated video from ordinary CCTV. Recently, GreenTel CO., LTD, a start-up company that focuses on mainly video processing technology, released the video enhancement product named as "VM -100" VM-100 is the real time, live video enhancement system based on H/W platform and can be applied to the stored image in the storage device like DVR and camcorder as well. It can enhance the deteoriated image and is optimized for the every possible impairment such as fog, rain, snow, low lights and so on. VM-100 can handle the image enhancement within 100us processing time because the video enhancement algorithm is embedded in H/W ASIC and consequently, it produces more reliable, more stable performance compared to the S/W based product. Also, it support the concept of Plug-and -Play, which makes user to install this product, connecting video cables to input and out terminals simply. It can deal with video format of NTSC and PAL Analog inputs each and also provides BY-PASS FUNCTION which makes the user see the original video in case of the failure of VM-100. And it includes the functions of fog image correction, contrast and brightness correction, edge emphasizing, backlight

correction. Especially, users can set image enhancement area into the 10 size shape in the video display frame in order to more focus on the important image area and this setting can be managed or controlled remotely using RS-485 interface. The power consumption is only within 1W in the normal operating mode and this low power consumption accords with the green policy of the government. GreenTel has completed the field trial of VM-100 vastly and already developed the multi-channel video enhancement system up to 16channels using the standard rack. Bellow image is the captured image of live video in VM-100 in real field test. Left image is the original video and right image is the enhanced image using VM-100.
