The internet search giant, Google, may close the biggest deal in its history. Monday, Google obtained authorization from US and European antitrust regulators to expand their mobile patent with Motorola . This makes them steps closer to producing phones, tablets, home entertainment systems, etc. They are anticipating that by collaborating Google’s search engine and Motorola’s variety of apps, that this will increase the growing competition with their rival, Apple.
Currently Google needs to handle their relations with China, which could potentially be their largest market, if everything goes to plan. "This is an important milestone in the approval process," Don Harrison, Google's deputy general counsel stated and hopes that the manufacturing of this product can be carried out soon. The coupling of these two corporations could be of great benefit to each other. Motorola has struggled to keep up with its rival, Apple and Google is seeking to get search as in many devices as possible.
BGC Partners Colin Gillis stated “"Google is about to chase a whole new business model. It’s going to get hardware out to consumers at low to no cost and make it up in services, because the only way to beat Apple is on price."
