Moshe Kai Cavalin is considered to be a genius, though he has a different perspective.
At the age of 8, when most children are riding their bikes or playing with their Wii, M

oshe was enrolled at East Los Angeles Community College and earned one of his two Associate of Arts degrees in 2009 at age 11 with a 4.0 grade point average. He will graduate at age 14 from UCLA and has just published his Chinese-translated book, “We Can Do.”
This book explains how children can achieve their goals through tasks such as keeping themselves focused, and giving 100% to everything. He wants his peers to know that there is no special formula or genius involved, just working hard and studying well.
"That's always the question that bothers me. People need to know you don't really need to be a genius. You just have to work hard and you can accomplish anything,” said Cavalin. He explains that he watches less TV (four hours a week) but makes time for some of his favorite extracurricular activities such as soccer and martial arts. "I was able to reach the stars, but others can reach the 'Milky Way," he tells readers.
One of his teachers, Richard Avila was an inspiration to the young college student by showing enthusiasm and passion for what he taught. This in turn helped Cavalin to get an A in the subject, though it was not of interest to Cavalin. Avila was also the inspiration behind the book, “We Can Do.”
This book was published by Han Shian Publishing of Taiwan and was exported to Singapore, Malaysia, and several bookstores in Southern California.
When asked what this math major wanted to do after graduating and obtaining a Master’s Degree, he replied, “"Who knowsThat's a very distant future, and I'm pretty much planning for just the next few years. That's too far into the future for me to see."
