
SEOUL, KOREA — Minister of Strategy and Finance Bahk Jaewan will participate in the meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governors in Mexico City on February 25-26 to discuss pending global economic issues and plans for cooperation with his counterparts and other senior officials.
The meeting will also be attended by the finance ministers of Spain, Chile, Colombia, Cambodia and Benin, five non-member countries invited to participate in G20 meetings this year, as well as the heads of the IMF, OECD, World Bank, Financial Stability Board and the UN.
Minister Bahk is to hold bilateral talks with his counterparts from Mexico, Germany, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore on the sidelines of the meeting to exchange opinions on global issues and discuss international cooperation including the expansion of IMF aid and risks to the global economy such as the eurozone crisis. The talks with Japan, Indonesia and Singapore will also cover plans for economic cooperation among Asian countries.
Minister Bahk and his Mexican counterpart are to sign an MOU on assistance to Mexico through Korea’s Knowledge Sharing Program, which provides the country’s experience in development to developing countries.
