The GRL program was designed to facilitate joint research in the area of 21st century technology including BT, NT and ET through international research between Korean and foreign laboratories.

Since the Fukushima accident, experts will emphasize the importance of sustaining the environment and energy. Additionally, S&T counselors from the US, Japanese, Swiss and Italian Embassies to Korea will join the event to seek measures for extension of the global research project. Korea has bilateral joint research with these countries.

The event will give participants a special chance to hear from 18 famous GRL Principal Investigators on the current research outcomes in the environment and energy field. Prof. Shunichi Fukuzumi from Osaka University, Prof. Michael Grätzel from Swiss Federal institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland and Dr. Xiao-Qing Yang from Brookhaven National Lab., USA will share their knowledge of artificial Photosynthesis for solar sustainable fuels, solar cells, and secondary cells.
