Mrs. Monica YB Jung The Korea IT Times Seoul Dear President Jung, In Germany advanced information technology becomes more and more identified with Korea. Leading Korean products are German household items. A Samsung laptop has been named by a popular German daily as one of the ten most desirable objects of the year 2004. During its first year Korea IT Times has been engaged in a very respectable way to fill the foreign embassies¡ need for information about the Korean advancements in this field. Our embassy needs to keep ahead because IT is one of the most promising fields of technological cooperation between Korea and Germany. Two examples are the user surface project between Ehwa University and the German Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and the cooperation of Siemens with several Korean universities in the field of ultrasound diagnostics. German companies are also engaged in the hardware development, e.g. Merck in liquid crystals and Schott in glass for flat screens. On occasion of this first anniversary, we wish a bright future to ¡°Korea IT Times¡± and hope for continued cooperation.
