Caring for a baby is made all the more difficult by one simple fact: the child can’t talk to you. For first time parents, a crying baby can be stressful, especially if they are unsure of what the baby wants. You could go the “old-fashioned” route and stick a bottle in your baby’s mouth or squeeze his diaper to see if he is wet. Or you could try a new product that takes some of the anxiety out of parenting, known as the “exmobaby” suit.
This hi-tech baby suit (otherwise known as baby’s first communication device) has built-in 'biosensors' that lets parents know why their baby is crying. The suit also has a thermometer, heart rate monitor and movement sensor built into the fabric. The gadget recognizes the child’s mood and builds up a visual image of the child's 'mood' - and lets parents know how the child feels. For example, if the child has been rolling around in his crib rather than sleeping, parents will be notified via text message or email. Exmobaby will also be beneficial to parents concerned about infant sleep apnea, choking and other dangers related to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Parents will be kept up to date on their baby's status by receiving emails and text messages. Smartphones also contain built-in-apps that are made to work with the washable suits.
The manufacturers of this baby suit state, “The software means that parents can record previous physical states and attach such as hunger or tiredness, which allows the system to predict likely causes in future. The technology can learn over time. “
For any new mom returning to work after maternity leave, or for a new father returning to the office, it can be difficult to leave their infant with relatives or caregivers. Luckily with this new technology, they can constantly monitor their baby’s health and happiness just by tapping their phone.
