Established with a purpose to provide assistance to individuals on all technologies needed in developing and providing Broadband Convergence Network Open Service, BcN Open Service Creation Academy at ETRI plans to offer specialized educational programs under various curriculums starting October this year. As part of a goal to foster the world's first "service specialists," the academy is currently attracting students in order to nurture capabilities to discover and develop services. Moreover, the academy plans to provide a testing environment with terminal and network simulation functions so that it can facilitate actual development and testing of services discovered under the curriculums before commercialization. In the meantime, the academy also plans to hold a service competition as part of its goal to disseminate newly- developed services.
