Samsung SNS Signed a Contract for ITS-based Auto Part Center System

SEOUL, KOREA – Network services and solutions providing company Samsung SNS(CEO Changsoo Choi) announced on April 2, 2012 that the company signed a contract with Automotive Parts Industry Foundation in Daegu, Kyungbuk province for the project of ITS-based total control system of intelligent auto parts center.

The project, which will be done on April 2013, costs KRW 3 billion and all the processing that controls the procedures of auto part testing is being designed by the scheme based on the Intelligent Traffic System. It, also, adopts the WAVE, Wireless Access Vehicle Environment, for the first time in the world so that a vehicle can communicate with other vehicles or the traffic center.

The WAVE is a technology which enables fast-moving cars to communicate with the other cars or the traffic center so that the drivers could get real-time traffic information and road situation.

The company, also, plans to install the Hi-pass-based DSRC, Dedicated Short Range Communication, to test if the terminal of testing vehicles can get the capability of communication for real-time traffic information.

The company said "The contract of the project could tell that Samsung SNS is recognized for it’s the most advanced technology of ITS-based traffic system field.””It is planning to get the project done perfectly to expand its traffic system business,” the company added.

The department of transportation-solution business of the Samsung SNS, which has installed the most part of the country’s Hi-pass system, has the biggest market share with providing the competitive design and real-time traffic information by the company’s terminal optimized for the Hi-pass system.

The Samsung SNS has changed its name recently to reflect the meaning of the business field clearly to the company name. The ‘SNS’ means “Samsung Network Services and Solutions” and the company will focus on the field with renewed enthusiasm.
