About 50 veterans from Canada and its Commonwealth allies stood in driving rain as the remains of Archie Hearsay were laid to rest.
Both Archie Hearsay and his older brother, Joseph, served in the war but only Archie survived and returned home.
His last wish was to be buried with his brother and his ashes were carried to South Korea by his daughter, Debbie, and her teenage son.
The two-hour ceremony was held in the southeast city of Busan at the UN-Korean War Memorial Cemetery, which holds the remains of 177 of the 516 Canadians who died during the war.
Many veterans, on their first visit to South Korea since an armistice was signed in 1953, marvelled at how much the country has changed from a poor and under-developed country into an advanced and prosperous country.
