
SEOUL, KOREA - From June 7 to 11, the Visit Korea Committee will hold ‘Korea International Travel Mart 2012 (KITM 2012)’ at COEX and the LOTTE Hotel Seoul Jamsil. Four hundred attendees are expected to gather in Seoul including both domestic and international tourism related organizations.
The KITM 2012 is in its 3rd year of the inbound travel mart which is targeted to provide domestic local authorities and tourism-related businesses. This is a consultation opportunity for the development of new tourist products by inviting partners from around the world including China, Japan, Southeast Asia and the U.S.
The event starts on June 7 with an opening ceremony. On June 8, ‘Korea Tourism Seminar’ and the main event ‘B2B Travel Mart’ will be held at COEX in Samseong-dong. In addition, a familiarization tour is scheduled for foreign participants from June 9 to 11.
Meanwhile, applications for the ‘Korea Tourism Seminar’ and ‘B2B Travel Mart’ are received through the website (www.kitm.or.kr) from April 16 to 30. Applicants can select the program they wanted after entering the required information.
Hong Ju-min, the Secretary General of the Visit Korea Committee, said “This year, the number of Chinese visitors has increased.” He continued, “In particular, because all participants have involved in the development of tourist products to Korea, the ‘B2B Travel Mart’ will be a great chance to keep developing tourist products and create a new market.
