BANGALORE, INDIA — iGATE today announced it has won the ‘World Class Award’, the highest honor under the ‘Large Service Organizations’ category, at the Global Performance Excellence Awards (GPEA). The GPEA is the only international, formal recognition of performance and business excellence for organizations across the world. The awards were administered by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO), a non-profit organization working towards the goal of achieving continuous quality improvement of goods and services in the Asia Pacific Region.
National award winners in their respective countries were eligible to apply for this award. The evaluation criterion was based on seven core elements and the results produced in those areas. This included - Leadership; Strategic Planning; Customer Focus; Measurement Analysis & Knowledge Management; Workforce Focus; Process Management; Results.

iGATE competed with 55 organizations from eight countries to emerge the winners in the ‘World Class’ category. The awards will be presented at the 18th APQO/International Conference on Quality in Colombo, Sri Lanka on October 14-17, 2012.
