SEOUL, KOREA—Flying the banner of “Korea Electronics Shows What IT will be”, the 43rd Korea Electronics Show opens from October 9 to 12 this year.  Amid the global economic slowdown, Korea’s IT industry is seeking for export growth and new markets, and KES has invited a number of viable buyers in cooperation with 54 organizations from 19 countries. Among them, KES will select a few of them to engage in multiple business meetings with Korean companies.

2012 Korea Electronics Show

Asia

Last year, Japan suffered due to a record-breaking tsunami that destroyed industrial structures, resulting in a power shortage. In a bid to diversify overseas suppliers, Japanese firms such as FujiXerox, Yaskawa Electric, Shimadzu Corp., and Okano Electric are planning to take part. KES is ready to promote business opportunities in-between. From China, for this year’s KES, buyers from all 100 IT companies are looking to join and strengthen Korea-China’s business relationship.

India has been leading the world’s IT service industry with its annual growth rate hovering around 8 ~ 9 % since 2005. KES, along with CMAI(Communication Multimedia and Infrastructure) of India, will greet participants who not only plan to do business but open a seminar for Korean companies that want to explore the Indian market. The Philippines’ electronics industry contributes over 60% to its exports, but local suppliers have failed to meet high demand. For this, SEIP, the Philippines’ largest IT association, is working with KES for the event in October. Twenty buyers from companies such as IMI and On Semiconductor have already made reservations.

The Middle East

Countries in the region are strategically focusing on New Rechargeable Energy, IT, Medical, Welfare, etc. Buyers from 20 companies, including Jumbo Electronics and Jacky’s Electronics, will visit KES this year.

Africa

Uncultivated and full of potential, Africa is rapidly rising as a massive new market. Recently, democratization and general elections have spiked demand for IT products. KES is working with AfICTA(Africa ICT Alliance), ITAN(Informatio Technology(Industry) Association of Nigeria), CETIA(Consumer Electronics and Technologies Industry Association), and Eitesal(Egyptian Information Telecommunications, Electronics and Software Alliance) and has invited buyers from all 20 selected companies.

America & Europe

Siemens USA, MITA Group(Security System), Germany’s MHM Electronics(CCTV, IP-Monitoring), Gamigo AG(Online Game, IT/Software), Greece’s MEGA SYSTEM(Energy Saving & Environment Product), Australia’s SNP Security, PENTAQ CO., as well as local suppliers and buyers from 22 companies are expected to be present for 2012’s KES.

Russia & South America

Russia has the largest land area and ranked 9th in population in the world. KES will welcome 10 local distributors including Open Star, MacCentre, and LeFUTUR. From Brazil, companies such as Globus System Electronics and LM3 Security System will be present. KES has been collaborating with ABINEE(Brazilian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association) and ABES(Brazilian Software Firms’ Association) since April this year.
