KOTRA has changed its approach to its export marketing business in such a way as to bolster its supporting business for Korean small and medium-sized exporters.
According to its business plan for 2006, KOTRA will increase the number of small and medium-sized exporters to which it will extend various supports from 1,500 in 2005 to 1,600 this year.
Related to this, KOTRA will also expand the number of its staff members in charge of supporting these businesses to 21 in 2006.
On the other hand, it will reduce the market exploration business by slashing export consultation meetings from 98 cases in 2005 to 70 cases in 2006.
KOTRA plans to hold about 170 overseas exhibitions this year to help Korean companies export more of their products, the same level as in 2005, a KOTRA spokesman said.
