MIC announced on January 12 that it has devised an assistance program called 'IT SMERP 2010' to be carried out by 2010 to help small and mid-sized IT enterprises and ventures to be placed in a friendlier business environment under tailor-made policies. The ministry said the SME revitalization program expands number of program tasks outlined in the 'IT SMERP' administered in earnest since last year from 13 to 28 following careful studies conducted by experts in various fields and the subsequent screening by the MIC's policy deliberation committee. MIC said the program is based on the basic concept of IT SMERP and aims to foster value-creative, technology innovative companies by upholding tailor-made policies that reflect corporate characteristics and remodel the business environment through such means as the lessening of over-competition in the market.
