CARTES Asia and E-commerce Asia to Promote Smart Technologies

HONGKONG — Since 2010, CARTES Asia has broughttogether market leaders from cardmanufacturing, payment, security, identification and mobility to present their latestand innovative solutions. For the first time in 2013, the co-located E-COMMERCE Asia event will extend the offer to productsand solutions in digital and mobile marketing, e-commerce and m-commerceplatforms, fulfillment and delivery. A joint sector will be dedicated toe-commerce and m-commerce payment solutions.

The potential of theonline market in China is huge. iResearch estimated that the number of online shoppers rose to 193 million in 2012, accounting for 34% of China’s Internetpopulation. It is expected that online shoppers will account for 50% of China’sInternet population in 2014. Online payment methods have benefited from thiswide utilization, such as the launch of a new international Chinese yuan onlinepayment service (China Payment Services) in September 2011, with the purpose ofof enabling e-commerce operators around the world to accept China Union Paycards online.

Moreover, consulting firm McKinsey believes that Chinais currently at an inflection point with mobile payments set to become a $40 billion industry driven largely by digital content and ticketing, and that competition is goingto become intense between banks, mobile operators and third party providers.

Common visitors tothe 2 shows will have an easy access to both exhibit floors and conferenceprogrammes” adds Jes Joo, E-commerce Asia Project Manager.
