Project fusion targeted as 2006 strategy
Oracle Korea, a subsidiary in Korea of the world's largest corporate software maker Oracle Corp., has set the implementation of project fusion and other five policies as its managerial strategy for 2006.

The other five are Oracle lifetime supporting policy, Oracle Fusion Architecture, acceleration of support of JDE Enterprise One, OFF SAP Program, and SOA strategy.
One of the core strategies to strengthen the Oracle's application business is the Project Fusion, which covers nextgeneration application, merger and architecture solution, Pyo Sam-soo, CEO of Korea Oracle, said.
Through a series of its takeover of top-level professional companies such as Peoplesoft, Retek, Profit Logic, iFlex, and Siebel, Oracle has increased its influencing power in the industry and expanded its depth in the professional solution sector.
Through Project Fusion, Oracle plans to introduce an integration solution that picked up merits of Peoplesoft and JD Edwards in single-version software to the market, he said. It also plans to sell individual Fusion Application in 2007 and integrated version solution, called the Fusion Application Sweet, in 2008.
Oracle Korea will also push for the Oracle lifetime supporting policy this year, which reflects its efforts for protection of customer investment and offering of advanced type ownership experience.
Under the project, it will expand the object of its supports to products manufactured by the companies it took over and guarantee the products for lifetime.
Considering that the supporting service for general software ends two or three years after sales in general, the Oracle's lifetime supporting policy can be cited as a very powerful one. Oracle's global-level technology and Oracle information architecture using application can reduce IT complexity sharply, he said.
At the same time, Oracle offers facts of unified and integrated sources to enterprises in an effort to help them manage their customers, products and suppliers more easily. Oracle Fusion Architecture (OFA), a one-step developed type of the existing Oracle Information Architecture (OIA), places the emphasis on integrity and openness in the architecture of business application and business information. OFA dismantles all applications into components with available services and integrates.
OFA is based on the five core strategies - Model-driven, service & event-enabled, information centric, gridready and standard-based ones.
Based on the above core strategies, OFA implements the three latest IT trends - GRID computing, SOA, enterprise information architecture.
Oracle Korea also plans to aggressively attack the market for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) with its top-class solution, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne this year. It will cement its foundation for the existing 7,500 SMB customers in the world through persistent supports and expand the SMB market through bolstered marketing strategies. For enterprises that have to renew license or rebuild application among the existing SAP R/3 customers, Korea Oracle also announced the 'OFF SAP' program, which supports migration with Oracle E-Business Suite.
Through the OFF SAP program, Oracle offers the maximum 100% license credit to SAP R/3 customers to help them convert from SAP to Oracle.
As SOA has recently emerged as a topic of conversation in the IT market, Korea Oracle introduced Oracle SOA Suite on Jan. 24. Based on reference it has so far secured, it plans to stage aggressive sales activities centering on manufacture and communication.
Through Oracle SOA suite, companies can build and manage SOA easily with comprehensive standard-based middle ware package.
Korea Oracle is leading the domestic SOA market with the 100% standard-based integrated SOA package products, top-level SOA consulting ability and systematic & stable supporting organization, CEO Pyo said.
