Asianux, a Linux server operating system has been launched It was jointly developed by Korean Linux software vendor Haansoft, Chinese leading Linux vendor Red Flag Software Co., Ltd. and Japanese Linux vendor Miracle Linux Corp.

It is aimed at adopting the commonstandard enterprise Linux platform for enterprise systems in Asia. It provides corporate customers with high reliability, scalability, manageability and better hardware and software compatibility.
According to Haansoft, among the NICE system of the Ministry of Education, 2,300 independent servers with Aisanux as their operating system went into operation from March.
A ministry official said that the ministry has confirmed stable function and excellent security after applying Asianux to the educational affairs system. Asianux was also selected as a major platform of the war game promoted by the Ministry of Defense last year.
Korea Coal Corp. also built a groupware system based on Asianux and went into operation from this year. It also plans to build its major business systems, including KMS and BPR, based on Linux.
