The project is to build an emergency communication network throughout firefighting, police, and related organizations in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, and Matola, the economic center of the country, aimed at protecting them from any possible crimes or disasters. The EMIS helps respond quickly especially when a massive disaster occurs.

Under terms of the order, Samsung SDS will build the EMIS at the Police Agency and the Firefighting Agency under the umbrella of the Ministry of Interior over the next 15 months by February 2014. After establishing the EMIS there, Samsung SDS will be engaged in technical consulting and repair and maintenance for three years, aimed at improving the capabilities of the local operators in Mozambique.

 

This order came after Samsung SDS received a PKI project worth $5 million from Kenya last month. The PKI project is to establish a private certification system and a national certification center.
