The first distribution center at Busan New Port held an opening ceremony on January 25 and the distribution center, the so-called CFS(Container Freight Station), is expected to play a key role to create import/export cargo at the newly opened port.
Busan Port Authority (BPA) said that the opening ceremony was held with more than 300 participants from home and abroad and the CFS classifying the cargo to and from Busan Port on the size of 32,000 square meters of Distripark in Busan New Port will be operated by Daewoo Logistics Limited.. and Korean Express.
BPA added that the opening of CFS will be a jumping start to vitalize Busan New Port by creating new cargo through processing, assembling, packaging, etc, which goes beyond the basic function of handling cargo at Busan Port.
Meanwhile, BIDC (Busan International Distribution Center), a joint company among Daewoo Logistics, DAT Japan, Fukuoka Transportation, established on the size of 33,000 square meters of distripark at Busan New Port had a signing ceremony with Uchidayoko, a Japanese distribution company producing office furniture.
According to the agreement, Uchidayoko will utilize the distripark operated BIDC as its logistics base offering stable cargo to BIDC as well as Busan New Port.
