DUBLIN, Calif. and SEOUL, KOREA - Epicor Software Corporation, today announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with leading Korean university, Pusan National University. Under the terms of the agreement, Epicor will donate the Epicor® next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to Pusan National University, provide sponsorship of the Epicor Scholarship Program and initiate plans for continued collaboration in the areas of research and recruitment.
Signed during an official ceremony by Prof. Won-young Yun, Head of Industrial Engineering, Pusan National University, and Craig Charlton, senior vice president and general manager, Epicor Asia Pacific, the agreement outlines ongoing collaboration between Epicor and the university’s Industrial Engineering department. The software license donation from Epicor includes financial, manufacturing and distribution modules; providing the university with a platform for curriculum based on Global Standard Operating Procedures. The deal illustrates the university’s dedication to supporting the development of real-life, practical applications across multiple industries.
Under the terms of the agreement, Epicor will run training programs offering certification exams that will provide students with official Epicor certification. Epicor will also run seminars and workshops in collaboration with Pusan National University with an eye on building upon the relationship with future research programs and a recruitment partnership that would provide students with employment opportunities with Epicor or an Epicor partner upon graduation. Epicor will also sponsor the Epicor Scholarship Program, which will provide additional funding for up to ten university students.
Epicor has a demonstrated commitment to tertiary education across Asia. Earlier in the year Epicor announced the donation of Epicor next-generation ERP software to the Industrial Engineering Department of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the Beijing Institute of Technology. The software donation was also accompanied by a series of training programs designed to improve the student’s industrial skills and knowledge of the industry-leading ERP solution.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Epicor in broadening our student’s practical knowledge of ERP software,” said Prof. Won-young Yun, Head of Industrial Engineering at Pusan National University. “The donation made by Epicor provides the university, our students in particular, with a world-class ERP software system. Epicor ERP, particularly within the financial, manufacturing and industrial engineering space, is not only advanced in application, it possesses great usability and is easy to navigate. We are excited about growing our relationship with Epicor as we look to expand the curriculum across the university.”
“Pusan National University has an impressive history in combining its curriculum with developing students’ knowledge of practical applications,” said Craig Charlton, senior vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific. “It is an honor that the university has chosen Epicor as the basis for its ERP software education and curriculum. Given our strengths across multiple industries as well as our ongoing work with the Beijing Institute of Technology, Epicor is uniquely positioned to provide the students with an ideal platform for their future careers.”
