Busan Port Authority (BPA)'s effort to attract foreign investment from Japan is in full swing with Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ) and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) BPA said it held an event for logistics companies from Korea and Japan to meet each other in Tokyo, Japan. The logistics companies, 15 from Korea and 22 from Japan participated at the event and showed interest in Distripark at Busan New Port.

BPA also held an investment consulting for the logistics companies after introducing construction plans of Busan New Port and investment opportunity of Distripark as well as successful investment of Mitsui Corporation investing in logistics district at Gamcheon Harbour in Busan Port.
The 330,000 square meters of Distripark at Busan New Port has drawn keen interest from logistics companies from home and abroad because the huge space of Distripark provides tax incentives such as full exemption of corporate tax and low lease fees of 4 cents month and other benefits.
With the participation of more than 100 companies domestic and overseas, BPA held a business opportunity seminar last January relating to the selection of tenancy at the Distripark and plans to receive business plan and select the tenancy at the end of May and in mid -June respectively. Daewoo Logistics Consortium comprised of Daewoo Logistics, DATJAPAN, and Fukuoka Transportation was named as a tenancy at the 33,000 square meters of logistics district.
BPA has posted a window at its homepage for logistics companies from home and abroad to exchange information with each other and to possibly form a consortium between domestic companies and provided lots of information regarding logistics trends in Japan through the BPA's representative in Japan.
Boo Won Kang, a director of the marketing team from BPA, said that BPA would make constant efforts to attract foreign investment by providing information of Busan Port to logistics companies showing interest in the Distripark at Busan New Port.
