SEOUL, KOREA - Hyundai Motor’s Grandeur TG became the most popular used car of the year, while the BMW New 5 Series emerged as the best-selling used car among import brands.
SK Encar, a specialist in used cars, revealed on December 31 the results of its compilation on the transactions of used cars registered at its website from January 1 to December 21, 2012. Hyundai Motor’s Grandeur TG turned out to be the best-selling used car model among domestically-made ones, while the BMW New 5 Series among import cars.
The number of Grandeur TG registered for sales at the website stood at 30,349 units, making it top in the used car registration list for two straight years. Following Grandeur TG were Hyundai Motor’s Porter 2 (24,258), Hyundai YF Sonata, Avante HD, and Santa Fe CM.
Among import cars, German models swept the top-six positions. The BMW New 5 Series and the New 3 Series were positioned at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, with 8,726 and 5,724. Following them were the Audi New A6 (5,044), New A4 (991), Mercedes-Benz New C-Class (3,548) and Mercedes-Benz New E-Class (3,326).
