KT established a nationwide LTE network in April 2012. It broke the 1-million mark in early June 2012, 2 million in August, and 3 million in November.
KT stressed that a string of its innovative services, including unlimited music streaming service, attracted a huge response from customers. In addition, the iPhone 5, which was released in early December, also contributed to attracting more subscribers.

KT, LTE 가입자 400만명 돌파
KT는 롱텀에볼루션(LTE)서비스 가입자가 400만명을 넘었다고 6일 밝혔다. 작년 1월 서비스를 시작한지 1년만이다.
KT는 “경쟁사보다 서비스를 늦게 시작했지만 가장 짧은 기간에 가입자 400만명을 모집한 것”이라고 설명했다. KT는 작년 4월 LTE 전국망을 구축했다. 6월 초 5개월 만에 LTE 가입자 100만명을 확보한 뒤 8월에 가입자 200만명, 11월에 300만명을 각각 돌파했다.
KT는 “데이터 이월 요금제와 무제한 음악 스트리밍 서비스 등이 소비자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻은 결과”라며 “작년 12월 초 출시된 아이폰5도 가입자 확보에 기여했다”고 강조했다.
