On May 16, Samsung Electronics announced that it will launch a nextgeneration HSDPA (High-speed Downlink Packet Access) phone (Name of model: SCHW200) which can transmit images and voices at the super-high speed of 1.8Mbps. The special features of the HSDPA phone (W200) being put on the market this time are not only the video phone conversation but also being able to be enjoyed for multimedia services, including real-time moving image streaming and others. Also, the 'Dual Band Dual Mode (DBDM)' chip has been installed for simultaneous enjoyment of mobile communication services, including 2G, 3G, and 3.5G. It supports the multi-tasking function of sending and receiving messages while engaged in videophone conversation and downloading wireless Internet contents at the same time as listening to MP3 music. Other than this, the functions of satellite DMB, a 2 million-pixel camera, an MP3, external memory, and Text To Speech (TTS) have been loaded.
