For the first time in the world, the linkage service between Wibro (wireless broadband internet) and terrestrial DMB (digital multimedia broadcasting) has been launched in May. Korea Telecom has joined hands with KBS for the opening of this new service. Thanks to this linkage service, by connecting the DMB receiver to the Wibro terminal, customers can watch DMB, at the same time using a variety of Wibro services.
According to the Korea Telecom, it plans in the beginning stage to provide services putting emphasis mainly on moving pictures including broadcastingrelated information and "rewatch," and then gradually expanding into participatory TV programs such as game and quiz, and continually developing into the bi-directional ads and events.
